Portable PC Camera '98 Design Guideline
Executive Overview
PC Imaging is a new market segment
created by the convergence between the digital imaging industry
and the PC. PC Imaging solutions, like other PC-based
applications, are characterized by ease of use, interoperability,
quick time-to-market, and cost-effectiveness. This document
provides guidelines for designing and developing interoperable,
easy to use, low-cost Portable PC Cameras that take advantage of
the image processing capabilities of Pentium® Processor with
MMX technology and Pentium II processor based PCs.
To further enhance and accelerate
the adoption of PC Imaging, this design guideline outlines the
requirements for the first generation of a new peripheral
category, Portable PC Cameras. An introduction, an architectural
overview, and a list of design guidelines form the basic elements
of this document.
